FOTD (=Food of the Day) #2

Hey everybody!

So I just made myself some lunch/dinner (it's 5pm now but I had breakfast at around noon so that's why..) and I think I did really good, it looks amazing and is probably going to taste amazing (going to start eating right after this blog post!).

So the salad is the same one I had in my last blog post (-> "A Yummy Dinner") apart from some minor changes (red bell peppers instead of yellow etc.) then we have a veggie burger (I was craving meat today so here's my substitute because I'm a pescetarian in case you didn't know!) with light ketchup on it and four fish sticks with some lemon juice drizzled over them and a bit of tartar mayo on top.
I really want to eat this right now so I won't ramble on about this meal but I hope you like it and maybe even try it out yourself! :)

A Yummy Dinner

So I made asparagus for the first time ever today for lunch but I didn't take a picture on purpose since it just kind of looked like green sticks soaked in my holondaise sauce. It was delicious though :) But for dinner just now (I just finished eating) I made a little rice and a yummy salad on the side. It is a very simple dish but it was really delicious, so here's a picture:

I also had a glas of merlot with my dish (still drinking that lol) which kind of completed it. I added some Gruyère cheese to the rice which I did after I took this picture. The salad consists of two large leaves of lettuce, one large piece of celery, one small yellow bell pepper, onion&garlic, salt&pepper, balsamic vinegar, raspberry vinegar, olive oil and some chives. I totally recommend trying this recipe if the picture appeals to you :)

I wish you all a great weekend and I'll talk to you soon! :)

I got some stuff..

Hello everybody!

Yes, it has been quite a while since my last blog post which doesn't only suck but it's also somewhat funny since in my last one I was planning on writing my next one that same day. I have no idea what ever happened to that one, lol.

Anyways.. to sum up what I've been up to since then: uni, work, I got sick twice and well, just life I guess..

Okay so I did get two things that actually would deserve a haul video but I just didn't want to talk about only two things in a video especially if I didn't have much to say about both of them yet (or at least at the point of the purchase which was about two weeks ago).

The first one was wildly raved about by MakeupByTiffanyD and after I got the little sample thingy I just had to get the full sized version of the Origins VitaZing. I will do a video where I'll review it thoroughly once I have my opinion "set" so I won't keep talking about it on here right now.

Then I got a new nail polish (I know I'm on project 10pan which I'll do an update on soon but I thought I'd need this for work). It's the much talked about "Sweetheart" by OPI which really is as gorgeous as you think it is. It's just the perfect nude nail polish. I got it for work technically but since I was working at a restaurant wearing nail polish overall wasn't really the best idea but I still really liked it. Here's a picture of it on my fingers: (that's before work lol)

I really like it but I think that you should really check it out in person because it really depends on your skin tone although I'd say that it will probably suit most lighter skin tones and look great if you have a tan but if you're a bit darker or if you have extremely light skin I don't really know how it would look so just go look at it in person if you're interested.

All right, that's all for now. I'll really do my best and try to do more blog posts because I do have a lot of ideas so bear with me...

Hope you're all doing well and I'll talk to you soon!

FOTD (=Food of the Day) #1

Hey guys!
So i started this thing on my youtube channel where I show what I eat kind of. So if I'm like eating something particularly healthy or something that might help some of you with incorporating healthy foods with "regular" food, I'll film it and kind of show you my "food of the day" or FOTD (not to be mixed up with "face of the day" lol).

Here is my first FOTD as a blog post:

This is risotto with veggies in it (obviously not that many since it was an already-mixed meal but I did cook it myself which took forever..) which is a great way to incorporate veggies in a not necessarily healthy food. I love risotto to death and the fact that is has veggies in it doesn't make me feel that bad about eating it. Next to it I just had some artichokes which are from like a jar of like oil and a marinade or whatever you want to call this. So I wouldn't go overboard on those but they're still healthy.
When I eat a meal as filling as this one, I don't have anything else that filling that day. So this is like my "main" meal and then let's say this was for lunch, so for dinner I'd have like a salad or some fruit or a yogurt, just something light.
So this is my little "cheat" meal except it's cheating in a good way (kind of).
Hope you liked this post and look out for more to come :)

I made Sushi!!

My favorite food (or one of my top 5 foods) is sushi and so I was in some special food store the other day with a friend of mine and I saw like one of those little sushi things, like a little tray with a couple of rolls on it which is a bit expensive for how much you get. So my friend told me that she actually bought some ingredients to make sushi at home and that it's way cheaper that way. So I was like, well that sure sounds like the better option. I've made sushi before at home so I already had the little rolling mat thingy so long story short, we went to the regular grocery store and bought the rest of the ingredients and well, I made sushi!

All you need is:
-the little sushi rolling mat thingy *insert correct word here*
-nori which is just dried seaweed (I think)
-sushi rice (yes you do need a special one for best results)
-rice vinegar (to soak the rice with)
-soy sauce / wasabi / ginger (all depends on what you like for a topping)
-something to put in the roll: I used salmon and cucumber

There are usually instructions on the packages of the nori and the sushi rice so I'm not going to tell you how to do it since I'm not really an expert at it (yet). So I just cooked the rice first and then put everything on the nori, rolled it up and there was my sushi meal :) (I made two rolls btw and since I tend to put a lot of rice in them by accident, this was extremely filling)

As you can see there were some pieces of cucumber left so I just added these as decoration next to the sushi and the other stuff next to the cucumbers is ginger. The sauce is next to that plate in a little bowl which you can't see but it's just soy sauce mixed with a little bit of wasabi.
Really awesome meal and very healthy too (especially the nori and the salmon and cucumber filling) !! :)

Have you ever made sushi yourself?

Latest Food Obsession: Broccoli

For the past couple of weeks I've been going crazy on broccoli.

Yes, I bought 3 last time we went to the grocery store! Broccoli is one of my favorite veggies and it's really healthy obviously. I pretty much like all vegetables but this is one that I've been eating every other day (or so) lately.
A couple of days ago, I made a "green meal" (I dailyboothed it).

So of course there's a plate full of broccoli (duh) and then there is a self-made cucumber salad and some grapes for dessert (didn't eat all of them though). The cucumber salad consists of a self-made dressing (with dill in it,very good with cucumbers!) and of course a cucumber (about half of it). This was not only a very healthy meal but also a very filling meal since veggies can be pretty heavy on your stomach if you eat a lot of them at once.

I'll be doing more food posts but I just thought I'd start with my latest obsession :)
Check out my youtube channel for some healthy lifestyle tips and some food of the day videos (which I'll also do a blog post on).
Hope this helped you!

Haul: Bag + Beauty Products

All right, so I have a little haul for you guys but I didn't want to film a video for only these few things. Instead I took pictures of everything and I'll blog about it right now.
The first thing I got which I'm probably most excited about is this bag:

This bag was about 20 Euros from MissCoquines which is a French store. I got the last one in black, they also had a gray one which I kind of liked even more but it didn't work that well with my winter coat plus black is pretty much always my color of choice (yes I consider black to be a color).
This bag does not only look like the one by Chanel but it also has the same little divider thing with the two compartments inside of it.

As you can see, it also has a light gray color on the inside which is really practical for finding your things that normally get lost when the inside is black.
This is going to be my new bag for going to uni because my books and A4-sized things will fit in perfectly and having two compartments helps a lot with keeping the bag organized.
The other thing I was quite excited about was this Argan Oil.

It is by a brand called "Naturelle D'Orient" which again is just some French brand. I got this at a French drugstore for 15 Euros which is quite a bargain if you know how expensive Argan (or Moroccan) oil can get. I used it when I washed my hair
the last time and I really liked it! still need to get used to it but the ends of my hair actually feel the same as the rest of my hair (aka not dry!) which is really nice! So I'll probably mention this in a video at some point but I am really happy about my purchase. Oh and with this purchase I got 4 (!!!) samples:

Not bad, right? The Clinique 3-step skincare system (type 3) I already have but having some samples of it are great for traveling or sleeping over at a friend's house! There's a Kenzo night repair cream, some anti-aging serum or something like that and the thing on the upper right corner is just a face cream (apparently good for under your makeup, will have to test that..).

The of course I went to Sephora and I got their makeup
remover which I really like and have had like two bottles of before:

And I got the Yes to Carrots lip butter in "berry" which I was recommended by a friend of mine so that's why I got it and I actually like it so far.

I also had two juices but I'll probably include those in a healthy lifestyle blog that I'll do soon.

Hope you liked my little blog-haul!

Glögg Shower Gel - Christmas in a bottle!

Here is another Lush christmas product that I just need to rave about for a bit.
First of all, picture credit goes to lush.com (I need to learn to take pictures myself). Then I think I also need to tell you that this is probably not available anymore since it is a christmas product. Maybe it'll come out again next christmas, let's hope for that.

To start off I just want to say how amazing this is. I got the tiny little bottle and I just put it in my little loofah thingy and that way you don't use it up too quickly although I have bought a second bottle of it already since I don't think it's being sold anymore by now.

This smells AMAZING!! it smells like cinnamon and mulled wine (which is called "glögg" in swedish - we drank a bottle from ikea on the 26th yum!).
It seriously is like christmas in a bottle, that's the best way to describe it.
Oh and your shower or bath room smells amazing afterwards!
The formula is also really nice. It's not too dry and not too creamy so it's basically the perfect shower gel consistency.
Other than the price I don't have anything bad to say about this.

Hope you're all having a nice week and I'll keep you posted on my lush experiences.

The Bögg Bath Bomb - Review

I used this bath bomb like maybe a week ago and I'm just now getting to writing the blog post on it (bad me). I don't even have a picture of it (even worse me). But I still want to talk about it real quickly.
This thing smells INCREDIBLE! I'm not kidding. I absolutely adored that smell and can't wait to buy it again (I actually got it as a gift for my birthday) next christmas season. And also, blue and pink (I hope I'm not wrong) stuff like starts coming out of it like a little explosion which was really fun to watch. The only bad thing I have to say is that it disappeared pretty quickly unfortunately. But it was one of the cheaper ones so that's okay I guess.
To sum up, this will totally be repurchased next christmas season! :)

Happy 2011 everyone!

ps:if you don't know what it looks like, it's basically like a little snowman's head in a way.

Happy Holidays with Christmas Eve Bubble Bar

First of all, I hope you all had wonderful holidays, merry belated christmas and a happy new year to everybody!
I just realized that it's kind of stupid to review this product since you can't really get it anymore, at least not online. But I
still want to share my opinion.

Christmas Eve Bubble bar is in Lush's christmas
collection. It came out this past christmas season but also the year before and maybe even before that, I don't know.

I actually used the first half of this on christmas eve so that was very nice :)
The second half I just used yesterday so that's why I thought I'd review it right now. When it's like dry and in its little yellow p
ackaging it smells really good but not really what I normally go for. BUT when you put it in your bath... oh my gosh seriously, it smells so amazing! And it is very relaxing and it makes soo many bubbles.

I was originally going to use the whole thing on christmas eve since I thought that I didn't want to use a christmas eve bubble bar on any other day (silly me) but when I was sitting in my bath and like crumbling the little pieces under the running water it surprised me and made a lot more bubbles than I thought it would so I just used half of it then. You can of course use the whole thing at once or even use it three times, depends on what you like.

Bottom line, I will be repurchasing this next christmas (gosh..) and if you haven't tried it out yet maybe you should do that too next year (or actually this year) ;)
